About BDI DataLynk Austin 2025

Austin is one of the most active fiber markets in the country. Google Fiber built one of its first and most mature networks here, AT&T Fiber covers much of the metro and its growing suburbs, and providers like Astound (Grande) and Tachus compete neighborhood by neighborhood. North of the city, Williamson County has become a center for data centers and semiconductor work anchored by Samsung’s Taylor fabrication plant. All of that infrastructure runs on fiber, and it needs certified technicians to build and maintain it.

BDI DataLynk is an FOA-Approved fiber optic certification school (#208) and delivers classes at professional training facilities across the country. For the Austin metro, BDI sets up at a training facility with conference space in Cedar Park, a northern suburb in Williamson County, so technicians across the region can earn FOA certification without traveling out of state. Classes here include the FiberOptiX Bootcamp, which earns three certifications in one week: CFOT, CFOS/T, and CFOS/S. Training is hands-on, with real fiber, tools, and test equipment.
