About College of Central Florida
The College of Central Florida is a public state college in the Florida College System, serving roughly 10,000 students across Marion, Citrus, and Levy counties from its main campus in Ocala. Established by the Florida Legislature in 1957, CF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and offers more than 170 academic pathways.
BDI DataLynk delivers FOA fiber optic certification classes at College of Central Florida through the college’s continuing education program. The classes run through CF’s Corporate College, the noncredit workforce training division, and are held at the Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus in Chiefland. BDI provides the instructor, curriculum, and all training equipment, while the college handles enrollment and facilities.
How Registration Works
Students enroll as noncredit learners through CF’s Corporate College when registering for fiber optic classes. The Certified Fiber Optics Boot Camp page lists the available certifications, with a registration link for each.
Getting Here
The Levy Campus sits in Chiefland, in north-central Florida, at the junction of U.S. Highway 19/98 and U.S. Alternate 27. The campus opened in 2017 and is the closest CF location for students across Levy County. Chiefland is about 30 miles southwest of Gainesville, the nearest large city. Out-of-town students can find lodging along the U.S. 19/98 corridor in Chiefland, with a wider selection of hotels in Gainesville about 30 miles away.
