About Lamar State College Orange - Lumberton

Lamar State College Orange opened its Lumberton campus in 2023, its first satellite location, bringing workforce and continuing education programs to Hardin County. LSCO is a public college in the Texas State University System, opened in 1969 and independently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), with accreditation reaffirmed through 2035. The Lumberton campus serves a growing community on the northern edge of the Beaumont area.

BDI DataLynk delivers FOA fiber optic certification training at the Lumberton campus through LSCO’s Workforce and Continuing Education division. Students can earn the CFOT, CFOS/T, and CFOS/S certifications, including all three together in the FiberOptiX Bootcamp. BDI provides the instructor, curriculum, and hands-on training equipment, and the college handles enrollment and facilities.

How Registration Works

Fiber optic classes at the Lumberton campus are non-credit offerings registered through LSCO’s Workforce and Continuing Education program. No classes are currently on the calendar. When classes are scheduled, you can register through LSCO’s workforce schedule.

The Lumberton campus sits in Hardin County along the US-69 corridor, just north of Beaumont and the Golden Triangle. Its position on the main route between Beaumont and the Big Thicket region puts it within a short drive for technicians across Southeast Texas. The campus is reached by car off US-69, and the nearby Beaumont area offers ample hotels and lodging for students traveling in for a full bootcamp week.
