About Lamar State College Orange

Lamar State College Orange is a public college in Orange, Texas, serving roughly 3,600 students in the heart of the Golden Triangle near the Louisiana border. Opened in 1969 as an extension center of Lamar University, LSCO is now part of the Texas State University System and is independently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), which reaffirmed the college’s accreditation through 2035.

BDI DataLynk delivers FOA fiber optic certification training at LSCO through the college’s Workforce and Continuing Education division. Students can earn the CFOT, CFOS/T, and CFOS/S certifications, including all three together in the FiberOptiX Bootcamp. BDI provides the instructor, curriculum, and hands-on training equipment, and the college handles enrollment and facilities.

How Registration Works

Fiber optic classes at LSCO are non-credit offerings registered through the college’s Workforce and Continuing Education program. No classes are currently on the calendar. When classes are scheduled, you can register through LSCO’s workforce schedule.

The main LSCO campus sits in downtown Orange, just off Interstate 10 near the Texas-Louisiana state line. Orange anchors the eastern point of the Golden Triangle alongside Beaumont and Port Arthur, putting the campus within easy driving distance for technicians across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. The I-10 corridor makes the campus straightforward to reach by car, and the area offers hotels and lodging for students traveling in for a full bootcamp week.
