About Lamar State College Orange - Livingston
Lamar State College Orange extends its workforce training into Polk County through the TSUS Polk County Center in Livingston, Texas. LSCO is a public college in the Texas State University System, opened in 1969 and independently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), with accreditation reaffirmed through 2035. The Livingston site brings the college’s academic and workforce programs to communities north of Houston.
BDI DataLynk delivers FOA fiber optic certification training at the Livingston site through LSCO’s Workforce and Continuing Education division. Students can earn the CFOT, CFOS/T, and CFOS/S certifications, including all three together in the FiberOptiX Bootcamp. BDI provides the instructor, curriculum, and hands-on training equipment, and the college handles enrollment and facilities.

The Livingston site is the county seat of Polk County, sitting at the junction of US Highway 59 and US Highway 190 in East Texas. Livingston is about 70 miles north of Houston, making it a convenient training point for technicians between the Houston metro and the East Texas Forest Country. The town sits just east of Lake Livingston, and the US-59 corridor makes the campus easy to reach by car, with local hotels available for students traveling in.
