About Victoria College

Victoria College is one of the oldest community colleges in Texas, founded in 1925 and celebrating its centennial in 2025. The public, open-admission college serves roughly 6,200 students a year across the Crossroads of South Texas and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Its Career and Technical Education programs span welding, electrical, HVACR, power line work, and other skilled trades that keep the region’s industries running.

BDI DataLynk delivers FOA fiber optic certification classes at Victoria College through the college’s Workforce and Continuing Education division, where fiber optics is listed alongside the other industrial trades. As an established partner, the campus hosts the FiberOptiX Bootcamp, which earns three certifications in one week: CFOT, CFOS/T, and CFOS/S. BDI provides the instructor, curriculum, and all training equipment, and the college handles enrollment and facilities.

How Registration Works

Fiber optic classes at Victoria College are registered through the college’s Workforce and Continuing Education program. You enroll as a non-credit continuing education student, completing the college’s Workforce CE application and then registering for the fiber optics class by its term and course number. Victoria College sits in the heart of Victoria, a South Texas hub known as the Crossroads because it falls within about a two-hour drive of Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi by way of US-59 and US-77. Out-of-town students will find several hotels minutes from campus, including the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Victoria, Hilton Garden Inn Victoria, La Quinta Inn Victoria, and Quality Inn and Suites Victoria East.
