About North Georgia Technical College

About the College

North Georgia Technical College is Georgia’s oldest technical institution, founded in 1944 and accredited by SACSCOC as part of the Technical College System of Georgia. The main campus sits on 339 acres in the Blue Ridge foothills of Clarkesville, about 90 minutes northeast of Atlanta. NGTC is one of only two technical colleges in the Georgia system that offers on-campus housing, making it a practical option for students traveling from other parts of the state.

BDI Training at NGTC

BDI delivers FOA fiber optic certification classes at North Georgia Technical College through the college’s continuing education program. Training is held at the Industrial Technology Center, a modern facility purpose-built for hands-on technical instruction. Classes offered include CFOT, CFOS/T, CFOS/S, and the FiberOptiX Bootcamp. To register, visit NGTC’s continuing education portal and search for fiber optics classes.

On-Campus Housing

Bryant Hall, the college’s co-ed residential facility, offers double and private rooms with included meal service at Ramsey Hunter Dining Hall. This is a genuine advantage for students coming from across Georgia or neighboring states who need affordable lodging during a training week. Contact NGTC’s residential life office at [email protected] for availability and rates.
