Basic Fiber Optic Training Course
CFOT - Certified Fiber Optic
Technician Course, 3-Day*
Effective August 19, 2013, BICSI recognizes Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) training for the following BICSI Continuing Education Credits (CECs).
BICSI Approved CECs: 24 ITS
Note: BICSI Members wishing to attend any course to obtain CEC's must participate in class and must successfully pass both hands-on
and written exams to receive the necessary Certificate of Completion required to obtain these BICSI Credits. Further, it is not advisable
to simply show up at a "Specialist" course without bringing with you basic knowledge of fiber optics networking. If you do, you will be
wasting your time, our time, and your money. A good test of your knowledge, should you wish to only attend a "Specialist" course, is to
go here and see if you can answer each of the 10 questions. If you cannot, you will have a hard time successfully passing these
courses. Also, a good way to "brush up" on your knowledge, would be to go here to the FOA Student Study Site for some pre-class study
Good luck and we hope to see you in one of our classes. -- Bob Ballard
