BDI FiberOptiX Fiber Optic Network Design Specialist – CFOS/D
This Fiber Optic Network Design Specialist course covers the design of fiber optic communications networks from concept to completion. It is intended for network owners, IT personnel, facilities managers, network designers, estimators, and technicians involved in the planning, design, and installation of fiber networks. Students learn how to define communications system needs, plan the project, choose components, use loss budgets to make sure the system will work over the proposed cable plant, decide what should be tested and documented, and manage the installation. The course is especially recommended for network owners and planners who are new to fiber optic network design, since it can make their jobs easier and their projects better.
Along with chapter tests, class discussions, and substantial hands-on activities, the FOA Specialist certification test (written and practical) is given and graded at the end of the class. Tuition includes all study materials, consumables, and exam fees.
Course Objective
Prepares students to take the FOA Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Network Design (CFOS/D) exam. Students will learn what is involved in designing a fiber optic network, including but not limited to:
